Walk In Pink began in October 2022 with a single 8km community health walk through Teshie, Accra. What started as one foundation's response to a quiet crisis drew hundreds of residents into the streets in white Walk In Pink shirts.
Over 200 community members were screened for breast cancer that day, many for the very first time in their lives. The response was overwhelming, and it confirmed what the team suspected. The need for accessible screening was real, urgent, and unmet.
National media took notice, with coverage on GTV, Obonu TV, and Sports Today. The first step had been taken, and the movement had found its purpose.
